Isn’t it strange that my Daily Thoughts don’t contain pictures or video segments?
After all, I’m posting them on sites that are set-up up especially for that purpose. So, why don’t I animate them – when it is pretty obvious that a lot more people would look at them? If you have listened to my sessions no 3 , Sounds, and no 21, Gladiator, you probably know already the answer, that I would like to present to you in form of a short story.

I was recently driving on a highway when the traffic got completely stuck due to hundreds of farming tractors protesting for higher milk prices. At first I was a little angry because the driving speed was reduced to about 1 mile per hour and I missed an appointment, but on second thought I found it OK that, at least in some countries, it is still possible for the little guy to get the media attention with such actions. So I turned on the radio and listened to music, waiting for the road situation to clear up.

The songs I was listening to were of a mixed genre, some rock, some pop, and also a few pieces of soul. So I was kind of riding the wave, letting me get carried away by the different sounds. Isn’t it true that some songs have a great ability to awaken feelings and emotions in you, especially if the message goes along with the music or vice versa. However, I often ask myself why all the beautiful songs that have been written apparently don’t have a lasting impact on our awareness? Same situation with the movies. Why don’t we change our thoughts permanently after we have been confronted with some hard-to-digest pictures or news. Is it because songs, like movies, most often have a happy ending? Is it because we perceive or want to perceive them as entertainment rather than the cold hard truth?

Imagine for a minute, how you would feel if the movies you like to watch wouldn’t have a soundful, happy or heroic ending? One thing’s for sure: Not a lot of people would be ready to spend money for that kind of un-entertainment. But that’s not all just yet. There are very provocative songs out there with bad endings and still they sell big time. How come? Is it because the words are wrapped in beats and sounds we like, converting it, again, as a package of entertainment. So despite the message the words may contain, we value it as entertainment and therefore the message lost its power in terms of having a lasting impact on our mind.

Or think about what some of the comic show performers have to say. Sometimes it’s pretty tough – yet true. So we laugh, scream and give applause, but then again we close the package of entertainment we just received and go on with our lives – unchanged.

It really blows my mind. Why are we so resistant to change our mindset? It appears to me that we, collectively speaking, are waiting until someone official shows up, a high ranking person from the political arena for instance, someone with a lot of titles and status symbols and then and only then we would start to actually listen and allow our thinking process to get in gear, no matter if this official person is a complete failure and corrupt ignorant on the personal side. Title and status symbols – that’s all it takes to impress us.

What if the president of a country would publicly say the same words as those of that very provocative song, I talked earlier about? One of sudden they would have a huge impact. Just because the message would not be perceived as entertainment but rather the truth.

My Daily Thoughts sessions are not supposed to entertain you. Otherwise I would embed them in an overwhelming amount of beautifully created pictures, sounds and scenes. My goal is to offer you some kind of gateway for becoming reflective for yourself, to think about what’s really important in life, and to seek the truth for yourself.

However, it is sad to state that with all the admirable means of communication we have available to us we are not getting any closer to the truth. The current state of society is one of never-ending entertainment. Everything, including politics, news, and religion, is made into one big show – one big masquerade, completely hiding the true steering forces and horrible casualties of our society. Entertainment, the base stone of our society. How long is that foundation going to last?

If there would be a future day when everything is said and done, it would turn out that there is only one truth. The path towards the truth is different for each person, because everyone is coming from a different background. But if you are truly committed to seek the truth, you will see for yourself that at the end of this journey, at the end of this dark tunnel there is all-encompassing light, where we can meet in complete awareness and unity.
